My 7yo has been learning some classic fables this week. She has kept a list of all the lessons or morals from their stories. I think they are appropriate for me as a "grown-up" just as much as for a child. So here's the list:
- Don't be selfish. You will lose much more than you gain.
- Being greedy will take you down.
- Don't count your chickens before they hatch.
- Misery loves company.
- When some people can't get what they want, they say they didn't want it anyway to make themselves feel better.
- It is best not to lie because people don't believe liars, even when you tell the truth.
