My 7yo has been learning some classic fables this week. She has kept a list of all the lessons or morals from their stories. I think they are appropriate for me as a "grown-up" just as much as for a child. So here's the list:
1 - Don't be selfish. You will lose much more than you gain.
2 - Being greedy will take you down.
3 - Don't count your chickens before they hatch.
4 - Misery loves company.
5 - When some people can't get what they want, they say they didn't want it anyway to make themselves feel better.
6 - It is best not to lie because people don't believe liars, even when you tell the truth.

We've been studying fables recently too and my kids have made about 20 paper bag puppets to act them out. Such great lessons to be learned from them!
Cute :) Good idea on the paper bag puppets!
